Solar energy vendor in Memmingen /Germany establishes distribution network and trains traders on the spot
Memmingen, 27. August 2010. Phaesun GmbH in Memmingen/Germany provides households, small business enterprises and public institutions in Mozambique with solar energy. With an inaugural event on 23 July 2010 which was attended by about 70 visitors, the Offgrid specialist started the project on the rural electrification of Mozambique in the parish of Pessene, situated approx. 50 kilometres from Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The day before, Phaesun had built up the first Pico systems included in the project there (Pico systems are small Offgrid systems with a capacity of up to 10 watts). From now on, a primary school and two accommodations for teachers will be illuminated by the 15 solar lamps installed.
All in all, the 300.000-Euro-project is going to last for two years. 50 per cent of the investment costs are covered by the Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft. As a first step, Phaesun will establish a sustained trader network for the distribution of the Pico systems together with their project partner Coseba in Mozambique running training courses for 10 to 15 traders in the province of Sofala in the east of the country. At the same time, Phaesun cooperation partner Sonnenplus GmbH will train 10 to 15 traders in the province of Maputo.

Memmingen, 15. April 2010. A solar refrigeration container is one of the particular highlights presented at Phaesun GmbH’s fair booth. It has been designed by ILK Dresden for the use in hospitals, medical supply depots and food storage centres in regions with insecure, or unavailable energy supply. The system has a modular structure, including integrated solar modules with a capacity of 1.7, or 3.6 kilowatts depending on the respective design. The larger system consists of a single cooling chamber for the storage of up to 400 kilogrammes of meat or vegetables at a temperature of 0 to 10 degrees Celsius. The smaller container includes three separate chambers for the storage of drugs at temperatures from 0 to 8, 10 to 15 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius. The maximum ambient temperature amounts to 52 degrees Celsius. The containers can be also flexibly adjusted to customer requirements. In addition to refrigeration container solutions, solutions for energy supply and telecommunication are also available.

Memmingen, 11. Mai 2010 Phaesun GmbH of Memmingen / Germany have installed off-grid solar power plants for police barracks in Liberia in West Africa and trained Liberian electricians on site. The last of five complete 12 volt systems went into service last week. The solar plants installed in the Lofa region in the northernmost part of the country generate one, or two kilowatts peak depending on their respective design. This is sufficient for the lighting, water supply and the operation of charging stations for mobile phones. All components including the solar modules, charge controllers, batteries, motion sensors, water pumps, energy saving lamps and charging stations have been supplied by Phaesun GmbH.

For a fortnight, the adventurer will stay in a 4m² under water home without coming up to surface. With 2.500 watt hours, Godson will try to generate the largest amount of electricity ever produced by under water cycling, surrounded by approx. 1.300 fish and before the very eyes of the LEGOLAND visitors. An official Guinness World Records referee will confirm the world record by April 13.
