Phaesun
Off-Grid News - July 2016 Water supply for Umkulu refugee camp in Eritrea
Phaesun successfully implemented a solar water pumping system in a
refugee camp in Eritrea to improve the water supply. In June 2016,
the installation of the system that has a PV capacity of 9.5 kWp,
was completed and can now supply the camp with an amount of 140 m³
water per day. Planning and financing were effected by the
international United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR). With this camp
that is situated near the Eritrean city of Massawa, UNHCR has
offered a place of refuge for people mainly fled from Somalia due to
war and violence. The camp is giving shelter to approx. 3000 people.
From the Umkulu base, an attempt is made to convey the people to
other countries where they will be able to start a new life. You can
find pictures of the solar pumping system on our
Facebook
page here. |

15 Years phaesunized!
Episode 2011: Workshop series is starting!
It was 15 years ago that the cornerstone for Phaesun was laid in
Memmingen in the Allgäu. We use this anniversary year to tell about
the Phaesun background and history episode by episode!
In 2011, Phaesun is meanwhile represented with four offices
throughout the world. The company is celebrating its 10 years’
anniversary inviting all its partners to the first Off-Grid Experts
Workshop in Memmingen. On two days, the international Phaesun team
goes all out to offer their guests and further exhibitors of the
Off-Grid trade a high-quality training program. This workshop is so
well received throughout the trade that the event is meanwhile
established as a regular event. Moreover, Phaesun is awarded the
Bavarian Export Award and can present itself as an exporter of
High-Quality technology. You can find pictures on our

| Ambassador from Uganda hosted by Phaesun
The German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) was
hosted by Phaesun with a delegation and the ambassador from Uganda.
The participants were partly members of the economy and are already
actively into business with solar companies of their own in Uganda.
Some of them are also partly working in the public sector e.g. the
Ministry for Energy and the „Rural Electrification Agency“ and
participate in the development of the national electrification
program where Off-Grid solutions for remote areas play an important
role. During this training course which was entitled with „Renewable
Energies for Uganda“ and held on the premises of Phaesun GmbH, a lot
of knowledge and skills could be imparted while new contacts could
be made at the same time. You can find pictures on our
Facebook
page here. |
